She continues to work independently with her clients, using her design and UX skill set as well as freelance freedom to focus her time creating online experiences and digital content for small businesses. Vera Zambonelli is a Hawaiʻi-based independent filmmaker and researcher. Vera founded Hawaiʻi Women in Filmmaking in 2011 to advocate for women and girls telling their stories through film and provide a space for wāhine filmmakers to connect, collaborate, and support each other. Currently, thanks to a prestigious grant from the National Endowment for the Arts, Vera is the pre-production of REEL WĀHINE OF HAWAIʻI Season 4, a short doc film series that redresses gender inequity in the film industry by documenting the real-life stories of Hawai‘i women filmmakers, and is gearing up for a summer full of social justice-oriented filmmaking programs for young women. Vera loves floating in the ocean and can eat pizza every day.
